Qurbani

The act of offering the sacrifice of an animal to Allah (SWT) on Eid-ul-Adha

Qurbani donations help provide quality meals

The word Qurbani means offering and is the ritual of sacrificing an animal, a goat, sheep, cow or camel, during the month of Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic Calendar. The practice of Qurbani is to reflect the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, for the sake of Allah (SWT). At SPOT, donations provide meals to thousands of families in need and living in poverty every year.

"There is nothing dearer to Allah during the days of Qurbani than the sacrificing of animals. The sacrificed animal shall come on the Day of Judgement with it's horns, hair and hooves (to be weighed). The sacrifice is accepted by Allah before the blood reaches the ground. Therefore sacrifice with an open and happy heart"
